Novinka – Smart Protector 300

The Smart Protector 300 Type addresses the cable protection challenge that defines modern ESP completions: larger cable cross-sections, multiple cables in the same annular space, and the need to protect both high-voltage power cables and sensitive fibre optic instrumentation lines simultaneously in an environment where physical damage from coupling contact or annular pressure events carries significant production consequences. Configured specifically for ESP power cables, control lines, and fibre optic cables downhole, the 300 Type's wider geometry accommodates these larger and more complex cable combinations within the restricted annular clearances of the completion string — a design specification established in co-operation with Shell and applied across the full Smart® Protector range manufactured by HCL. The dual-function design holds and protects simultaneously, permanently attached using Smart Band or Smart Tie — a fully non-metallic, non-conductive system from protector to attachment. Polymer grade selection covers the full downhole temperature and chemical envelope: PA66 for standard conditions, PA12 for long-life subsea and offshore service, PK for H2S, CO2, and hydrocarbon environments where Nylon grades degrade, and PPS for the highest-temperature downhole profiles encountered in thermal wells and deep-water completions. Applied beyond downhole in industrial and telecommunications cable management wherever a robust, non-conductive, chemically resistant multi-cable protector is required.
